The Sierra Club vigorously supports protecting our forests.
The Club has devoted much time to the consideration of issues and responded appropriately
to such matters as the Mendocino Redwood Company's Habitat Conservation Plan.
Your calls and letters have made a difference to places like Jackson Forest where
4000 people wrote comments nearly all of which opposed the CDF's Forest Management Plan.
Taking action has also made a difference to Haupt Creek Forest.
The Haupt Creek Timber Harvest Plan has been officially DENIED.
See the "Update on Haupt Creek Forest" below.
Senate Bill 234 (2001-2002 Session), a bill that will reform the State Board of Forestry, also needs your support.
Join the Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, California Native Plant Society, Sierra Nevada
Alliance and CalTrout in supporting SB 234 (see below).
