Protect California’s Wild Places

California residents and Sierra Club volunteers have a proud history of protecting its wild places through grassroots volunteerism and political activism. Now you can join us in one of California’s most ambitious campaigns to protect our remaining wild places.

Invaluable in so many ways, these places and their resources are currently threatened by destructive activities such as logging, mining and dam building.

According to a recent survey of California’s wild lands, 675,000 acres nearly the size of Yosemite National Park have been lost over the last 20 years. And only one major California river and its tributaries the Smith River remains free flowing from headwaters to the sea. It is time to protect these special places before it’s too late.
