Overpopulation: A Growing Concern Jerry Kohl, Group Population Chair | |
| Ben Zuckerman, an advocate of reducing population growth has been elected to the Sierra Club Board with the highest vote of any of the candidates. Zuckerman's candidate statement included comment on the Club's silence in it's publications on domestic and global population issues. The vote for Zuckerman may indicate an increased interest of club members in population growth as an environmental issue. |

Bush holding up $34 million in funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). This funding was approved by the House and Senate in December.
